The design is based on a traditional farm stead with farmhouse on the principle approach with rear single storey "outbuildings" set around a sunken courtyard which maximises the uninterrupted view to the south west. This project was a full renovation of an existing bungalow in Cheltenham. We designed a single storey extension, doubling the floor area of the property and renovated the existing building to reflect a more efficient layout. The brief was to ensure the clients could live in the dwelling throughout their retirement with level access throughout.
